Starting Supportive Conversations with Aging Loved Ones
Aug. 06, 2026 12:00 p.m.
Caring Transitions of Boerne, Fredericksburg and Kerrville is a senior relocation service and estate liquidation company. They are starting their third year in business. They have a program that focuses on helping family members talk with their elders about their current quality of life and whether staying in their homes still makes sense. This is a very difficult conversation to have fraught with emotion and logistical puzzles, and it is a conversation that more and more of us are faced with as our parents age. This program offers lead-in topic suggestions, objection handling, and above all, reminders that this conversation is harder on their elders than it is on the family. |

Presentation and Request for Support
Sep. 17, 2026 12:00 p.m.
The Boerne Champion speech and debate team works year round as individuals and as groups, competing in a multitude of events across all levels. For the first half of the year, participants prepare and compete on a TFA(Texas Forensic Association) circuit. From this, students gain points for placing, getting them closer to the state competition! During the second portion of the year, we start UIL(University Interscholastic League) competitions. The amount of events offered lowers, as the competition gets harder. If participants place high enough they move forward to regional and even state level competitions!
