Howdy! My name is Sarah Eckert-Maurer and I am from Stonewall and now live in Dripping Springs area. Most the time, I live the nomad life between Boerne, Fredericksburg, Comfort, Stonewall and Terlingua, and the other days I return home to stick my head in the sand and focus on my business venture of designing and creating tourist maps.

Since 1997, in some form or another, I have been involved in Rotary. I started in the High School Interact program, then ventured to Switzerland on a year-long exchange and returning to my home base with the Noon Fredericksburg Club and now the Morning Fredericksburg Club.  I was “lucky” to be chosen for a presidential term which followed on to my 3rd term as an Assistant Governor.

I am an Aggie and graduated with degrees in Ag Business, German and Sociology.  I co-founded the Restaurant & Hospitality Club at A&M, which then led to my first job as a Front of House manager at Pappadeaux.  I jumped ship to return home and pursue the career as a Sysco Foods Salesperson for the Fredericksburg area. 8 years later, I left the food world in search of a consulting career but ended up running an Ace Hardware for two years. Since then, I still work on consulting jobs revolving the food and restaurant world.  In 2016, I had the opportunity to take on Birds Eye View Maps, now Map It Out. Knowing nothing about computer design, being directionally challenged, but knowing and understanding people and sales, I thought why not!

I am blessed with 7 nieces and nephews, 3 siblings who still claim me and the most patient, loving best friend, my husband. My older sister, Naomi, who has always been my hero and motivator has decided to join the world of sole entrepreneurship as we work together to expand the “Map It Out” brand, as we venture to other Hill Country towns.

Thank you for having me! Sarah
