Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) What is our future

Bill Hetherington has been the CEO at Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) since 2013. Before joining BEC, he was the President and CEO of Carina Technologies in Huntsville Alabama. He has over 30 years of experience in technology development, renewable energy, and the electric utility industry. While at BEC, he has started several non-traditional utility businesses including BEC Solar, which provides solar/storage energy solutions, BEC Fiber, which supports BEC intelligent grid initiatives and provides high speed Internet access and most recently Apolloware, a cloud based, real time, energy analytics platform which improves grid resiliency, enables energy efficiency, and optimizes distributes resource integration. In 2022 he was appointed by the Governor to the Broadband Development Council.
His educational background includes a degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan
