Rotary District Governor Kristy Vandenberg will be speaking at the Rotary Club of Boerne, Texas Friday September 17th at noon.
Kristy graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She worked for two years for the Ann Arbor MI school district and then accepted a full time position with the American Red Cross.  She served the Red Cross in Ann Arbor MI, Buffalo NY and Houston TX.  Then, in 2007, she moved to Kerrville TX as the CEO of the Hill Country Chapter.  She retired in December of 2013, after a total of 37 years with the Red Cross.
 
On January 1st of 2014, she was recruited as the Executive Director of The Ultimate Gift of Life Foundation, a new 501 (c) 3 non-profit.  Their critical mission is to increase the number of registered organ donors in Texas and throughout the United States.  Since then, with approx. 115,000 individuals waiting for an organ, she has focused on making a difference through organ donor education.
 
Kristy joined the Rotary Club of Kerrville in April of 2008.  She began serving on the Board of Directors in 2014 and as President in 2017-2018.  During her presidency the Club completed many new service projects such as Rise Against Hunger, Josh the Otter Water Safety & Literacy and the Labor Day Walk-A-Fun! 
 
She is an active member of the Kerr County United Way Board of Directors.   She is a resident of Kerrville and Gillespie County and enjoys horseback riding, dancing and swimming.
 
She looks forward to serving Rotary District 5840 as Governor in 2021-2022!
